Effective January 1, 2007, all persons engaged in the installation, servicing and or repair of gas fired appliances, including gas fireplaces, gas stoves and gas fireplace inserts, shall be licensed by the NH State Fire Marshal’s Office. The law, known as Amilia’s Law, was enacted by the NH General Court during the 2005 session and was the result of a tragic incident which took the life of Amilia Luhrmann. Governor Lynch signed the bill into law on June 28, 2006.
