Federal Tax Credit10% Biomass Appliance Tax CreditOn Friday, December 17, 2010, President Obama signed into law the $858 billion tax package that keeps current tax rates in place and extends a series of existing tax credits. Included in this package was the extension of a tax credit for the purchase of biomass heating appliances that was set to expire on December 31, 2010. The new tax credit as outlined provides: 10% credit for the purchase of biomass heating appliances in 2011, capped at $300. We believe most, if not all of our wood stoves, wood fireplace inserts, pellet stoves and pellet inserts qualify for the credit. A manufacturer’s certificate of eligibility is required by the IRS, and must be retained by the taxpayer. We will direct you to the certificate after your purchase.
